Nationally recognized, Beverly’s Birthdays is a Pittsburgh nonprofit dedicated to spreading birthday cheer to children experiencing homelessness and families in need. My brand identity concept reflects the cheer and youthful vibrancy of a classic birthday party — swirls of icing, sparkling candles, and the promise of a new year full of hope.
Beverly’s Birthdays is now nine years old, and the identity still sits sweet with the mission, yet has room for growth and flexibility in application (i.e. see our annual appeals and new mobile boutique)

An Evening of Birthday Cheer
Beverly’s Birthdays’ signature fundraiser event is the Evening of Birthday Cheer — an event where adults can enjoy the jovial fun of the beloved classic birthday party (with twists and interactive activities). In its seven-year history, the event themes have playfully evolved, but I’ve maintained the core magic of the brand and the upbeat splendor of BIRTHDAYS!
2019 — A bold display of birthday wonder held at Carnegie Science Center’s PointView Hall.
2016 — A “major league” spectacle held at the Pittsburgh Pirates’ PNC Park.
My involvement as designer and as a volunteer has been one of the most enriching and humbling experience of my life. Kids deserve love and recognition, no matter their circumstances, and that’s what Beverly’s Birthdays is truly all about. Learn more!
